Today, social wellness club Virgin Active Thailand released findings from its latest survey showing that sleep, recovery, and nutrition are the leading areas people are prioritising in their routines. In the context of hectic urban lives, the survey also points to growing demand for expert support and incorporation of mind-body exercises into wellness routines.

The study of 1,000 Thais reported that over two-thirds (65%) of Thais are increasingly prioritising their well-being compared to last year. Sleep and recovery are recognised by more than one in two Thais (55%) as the most important aspect of wellness, followed by nutrition (42%) and mental health (40%). Sleep challenges remain prevalent, with only around one in ten (9%) respondents reporting that they feel fully rested daily, while approximately a third (37%) acknowledged that sleep difficulties significantly affect their energy and concentration throughout the day.
Respondents also signalled what they want from wellness providers. More than half (55%) of respondents said certified expertise is essential when seeking health advice, while two in five (41%) were highly eager to participate in educational seminars and programmes that aid muscle recovery. A similar proportion (42%) would like to incorporate more mind-body exercises into their routines.
“Our survey found that one in two Thais feel busy, exhausted or pressured, while more than 50% said they were constantly on the go. Good sleep and the ability to slow down are therefore the key considerations for Thai consumers’ long-term health and longevity,” said Julien Bera, Country Director, Thailand and Singapore at Virgin Active.
