UOB Thailand has been recognised with four international sustainable finance awards, reinforcing its position as a leading transition finance partner helping businesses convert sustainability ambitions into bankable projects and measurable outcomes.

The Bank was named Thailand International Green Financing Bank of the Year at the Asian Banking & Finance Wholesale Banking Awards 2026 and received three awards at The Digital Banker’s Global Sustainable Finance Awards 2026: Best Wholesale/Transaction Bank for Sustainable Finance – Thailand, Best Green Loan – Thailand, and Best Sustainability-Linked Loan – Thailand. Together, the awards recognise UOB’s leadership in mobilising capital for businesses and projects supporting Thailand’s transition towards a low-carbon and more sustainable economy.

Mrs Vira-anong Chiranakhorn Phutrakul, Deputy CEO and Country Function Head of Wholesale Banking, UOB Thailand, said “As sustainability becomes increasingly linked to business competitiveness, companies need practical solutions that help turn long-term ambitions into investments that can be financed, implemented and measured. These awards reflect our commitment to supporting clients with financing solutions that drive both business growth and sustainability outcomes.”

The recognitions were underpinned by several landmark transactions across key sectors of Thailand’s economy, demonstrating UOB’s ability to support energy transition, sustainable business transformation, sustainable capital markets.

Among them was UOB’s award-winning financing for Levanta Renewables, which received Best Green Loan – Thailand. UOB structured and arranged green acquisition and project financing to support the acquisition of 34 operational solar projects across Thailand with a combined capacity of approximately 230MW. The transaction helped accelerate renewable energy deployment and strengthen Thailand’s transition towards a lower-carbon energy system. UOB acted as Joint Coordinator, Mandated Lead Arranger, Senior Lender and Hedge Provider for the financing.

The Bank was also recognised for its THB1 billion Sustainability-Linked Loan for Home Product Center (HomePro), which won Best Sustainability-Linked Loan – Thailand. The facility directly links financing costs to measurable sustainability outcomes, including maintaining a SET ESG Rating of AAA and continued inclusion in the Dow Jones BIC Emerging Markets (formerly known as Dow Jones Sustainability Indices Emerging Markets). By embedding sustainability performance into financing terms, the transaction demonstrates how ESG objectives can be integrated into core business strategy and corporate finance.

In the capital markets space, UOB also served as Sole Lead Manager and Bookrunner for CPNREIT’s THB6 billion Sustainability-Linked Bond issuance, recognised by leading regional financial publications as Thailand’s Best Sustainability-Linked Bond. The deal was the first sustainability-linked bond issued by a REIT in Thailand and the largest REIT bond issuance in the country in six years. The transaction established a new benchmark for sustainable fundraising in Thailand’s real estate sector and attracted participation from both domestic and international institutional investors, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Together, these transactions demonstrate how sustainable finance is expanding beyond traditional green projects into sectors that are shaping Thailand’s future economy. From renewable energy and sustainable retail to digital infrastructure and real estate, UOB is helping clients secure capital, execute transition strategies and deliver measurable sustainability outcomes.

UOB’s sustainable finance capabilities are supported by a comprehensive suite of Sustainable Finance Frameworks covering green finance, sustainability-linked finance, transition finance and sustainable trade finance. In 2025, UOB Thailand facilitated more than THB74.6 billion in sustainable financing, reflecting growing demand from businesses investing in sustainability, resilience and long-term growth.

“The transition to a sustainable economy requires capital, innovation and collaboration. We remain committed to helping our clients navigate that transition and unlock new growth opportunities while contributing to Thailand’s long-term sustainable development,” Mrs Vira-anong added.
