BSGF Advances “Fry to Fly” Initiative Inspiring Youth Awareness, Responsibility, and Action

On 10 February 2026, Mr. Bundit Hansapaiboon, Acting President, Refinery and Marketing Business Group, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, was invited as speaker on “Fry to Fly – Thailand’s New Economy: Turning Used Oil into Value” as part of the training program “Turning Used Cooking Oil into Clean Energy: Fry to Fly.” The session reaffirmed Bangchak Group’s commitment to transforming waste into clean energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and creating tangible circular economy value, in alignment with the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation. The program aims to raise awareness, deepen understanding, and encourage hands on action among young people to avoid reusing cooking oil and to prevent improper disposal into public waterways. Initially targeting university personnel, the initiative has since expanded to nearby communities. Mr. Bundit was welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitthiporn Prawatrungruang, President, North Bangkok University, together with university executives, faculty members, students, and representatives from surrounding residential communities, at North Bangkok University, Rangsit Campus.

In parallel, BSGF Company Limited (BSGF) delivered equipment to support the collection of used cooking oil at the university and surrounding villages. A professional team organized a demonstration of proper purchasing and testing procedures for used cooking oil, highlighting the health risks associated with high levels of polar compounds, which can cause serious diseases. The demonstrations aimed to build accurate knowledge, promote public health, and support long-term environmental sustainability.

This activity builds on the “Turning Old Waste into New Energy: Fry to Fly” partnership under Bangchak Group between BSGF, Bangkok Fuel Pipeline and Logistics Co., Ltd. (BFPL), and the university to collect used cooking oil from campus vendors and food operators for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production, established in late 2025.
