Now in its second consecutive year of collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and civil society, the project aims to promote waste segregation at the source in educational institutions and instil environmental awareness among youth through hands-on learning activities. On this occasion, an award ceremony was also held to present commemorative trophies to 10 pilot schools that participated in the 2025 project, in recognition of their achievements in developing effective waste management systems and establishing waste banks within their schools. The ceremony took place at Saksit Tridech Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Pollution Control Department Building.
Ms. Piengchit Sriprasart, Senior Vice President of People & Culture and Corporate Affairs, Thailand and Indochina, Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd stated, “The ‘Triple B: BRAND’S Bring Back’ project reflects the company’s commitment to operating our business alongside caring for society and the environment, under our corporate value of ‘Giving Back to Society.’ Recognizing the growing challenges of waste management and acknowledging that educational institutions serve as a critical starting point for instilling proper waste management awareness and behaviors among youth, the company initiated this project in collaboration with Klongwises. The project aims to encourage youth participation in waste management and sustainable environmental stewardship through hands-on learning processes that can be applied both within school settings and in everyday life, while also working closely with public-sector partners to systematically drive waste segregation at the source in educational institutions. In 2025, the project supported and expanded the establishment of waste banks in pilot schools through training camps, knowledge transfer, and joint monitoring and evaluation with partner networks. Honorary trophies were also presented to 10 pilot schools, based on their level of performance, to recognize their achievements in developing effective waste management systems. In addition, the project provided waste segregation learning kits to 437 schools under the BMA and delivered knowledge through practical training camps. Educational materials to support the establishment of school waste banks were also provided to more than 5,600 students from the 10 pilot schools.
“Based on monitoring and evaluation results, all pilot schools were able to apply the knowledge gained to initiate new waste management projects within their schools or further enhance existing initiatives, making them more concrete and effective. Schools awarded Excellent level commemorative trophies included Wat Samananam Borihan School, Samakkee Bamrung School, Wat Bumpennue School, and Suraotabchang School. Schools receiving Very Good level recognition included Wat Nong Yai School, Wat Pathombud Issararam School, Wat Lak Si School, and Lampaong School, while good level recognition was awarded to Sam Yaek Khlong Lolae School and Wat Kampang School. The success of the project’s implementation in 2025 has led to the continuation and reinforcement of the initiative in 2026. The company remains committed to expanding waste segregation at the source in educational institutions, in collaboration with the PCD and the BMA, through the selection of 10 schools under the BMA’s Department of Education to participate in the project under the concept “Cool Schools, No Mixed Waste.” Participating schools will receive comprehensive support, including theoretical and practical training camps, learning kits for establishing waste banks, financial support for waste management operations within schools, and a digital media contest on waste management. These activities aim to empower youth as key agents in transferring knowledge and extending sustainable practices to their families and surrounding communities. Throughout the project period, ongoing monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to assess progress and to present awards of recognition based on development levels upon project completion. In addition, in 2026, the project expanded its environmental awareness-building and knowledge-sharing efforts through youth-accessible communication channels, including Facebook and YouTube, to further extend learning to families and surrounding communities.”
Mr. Chirapong Kuhakanchana, Deputy Director of Pollution Control Department., stated, “The PCD’s core mission is to regulate and drive the country’s waste management efforts in alignment with national environmental policies and plans. The ‘Triple B: BRAND’S Bring Back’ project serves as a tangible example of effective collaboration between the public and private sectors in promoting waste segregation at the source in educational institutions, while raising awareness among the younger generation on the importance of proper waste management and enabling recyclable waste to be returned into a circular resource system. Over the past year, the PCD has supported the project through the provision of expert speakers to transfer knowledge on waste management, as well as by participating as a member of the evaluation and assessment committees for participating schools, to ensure that project implementation aligns with the country’s waste management direction. For the continuation of the project in 2026, the PCD remains committed to providing ongoing support through knowledge transfer on waste management and joint monitoring and evaluation of participating schools, with the aim of promoting sustainable waste management at the source in educational institutions.”
Mrs.Lertluck Leelaruangsang, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), stated, “The BMA places strong emphasis on waste management by prioritizing waste separation at the source under the ‘No Mixed Waste’ policy, with active participation from all sectors. Educational institutions serve as a critical starting point for building knowledge, understanding, and instilling proper waste management behaviors among youth. The ‘Triple B: BRAND’S Bring Back’ project represents another significant collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and network partners, providing concrete support for waste management operations in schools under the BMA. To date, BMA has supported the project through public relations efforts, the distribution of waste management learning materials to BMA-administered schools, the provision of expert speakers for knowledge transfer, and participation as a judging and evaluation committee member for participating schools, to ensure alignment with Bangkok’s waste management policies. In 2026, the BMA remains committed to continuing its support for the expansion of the ‘Triple B: BRAND’S Bring Back’ project, with the aim of promoting sustainable waste management at the source in educational institutions and systematically extending learning outcomes to families and surrounding communities.”
