Bangchak Group Welcomes German Energy Experts Led by the Thai Ambassador to Germany for Energy Transition Dialogue

H.E. Mr.Chittipat Tongprasroeth, Ambassador of Thailand to Germany, led a delegation of energy experts from the Federal Republic of Germany to visit Bangchak Group’s operations at the Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery. They were welcomed by Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited and Bangchak Group executives.

The delegation was introduced to Bangchak Group’s diverse businesses, with special emphasis on the Neat SAF project -Thailand’s first standalone Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production unit at the Bangchak Phra Khanong Refinery. This pioneering facility transforms used cooking oil into low-carbon jet fuel through the advanced HEFA (Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids) process, certified under Germany’s internationally recognized ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) standards, which ensure sustainability across the entire bio-based and renewable energy supply chain.

The visit also served as a platform for dialogue on energy transition, future energy innovations, carbon markets, and the pathways for developing the SAF industry, including opportunities to strengthen collaboration networks that will secure sustainable feedstock supply and production at scale.

Germany, as a longstanding partner of Thailand, plays a pivotal role through the Thai-German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility & Climate (TGC-EMC). This initiative supports Thailand’s energy transition by transferring technology and expertise, advancing policy and regulatory frameworks, and fostering innovative business models that accelerate the shift towards clean energy, bridging the energy, transport, and industrial sectors to address shared global challenges.
