As Bangkok’s social calendar heats up this April, SOMSAK, the Ekkamai-based Esarn-lead Thai eatery, is inviting the public to experience invites diners to experience “Somsak Made Me Do It: The Esarn Remix” on Wednesday, April 1st, a one-night-only, high-energy dining event designed to turn dinner into a fully social experience. a night where street-level soul meets high-stakes luck.
Inspired by the extraordinary journey of Somsak, Esarn lad and a former Bangkok taxi driver who famously won a £6 million lottery jackpot in the UK, the restaurant has built a reputation as a high-energy dining experience where Esarn roots meets a bold Bangkok attitude. For one night, that energy is turned up.
Hosted on April Fool’s Day, “Somsak Made Me Do It: The Esarn Remix” brings together food, music, and participation in a format that encourages guests to step out of routine and into something more playful, immersive, and unexpected.
Under the direction of Chef Andrew Martin, guests will experience a curated tasting that reimagines traditional Esarn flavors through a modern, technical lens. The menu remixes Somsak’s rural roots, utilizing high-heat wok techniques, primal wood-fired elements, and jackpot-level ingredients to create a sophisticated yet soulful social dining experience.
Throughout the night, the experience extends beyond the table. Guests are invited to take part in a series of interactive moments, from testing their spice limits on Somsak’s Hall of Heat to playful, lottery-style draws and social table challenges designed to spark energy across the room.
Set to a backdrop of modern Mor Lam and high-energy music, the night is designed to be shared, encouraging groups to come together, stay longer, and fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere.
At the bar, the energy continues with a selection of high-octane serves and refreshed Thai classics, designed to stand up to the heat of the wok and round out the jackpot dining experience.
