Swarovski Reveals Signature Tiara For Vienna Opera Ball 2026

Today, Swarovski unveils its much-anticipated tiara, the annual creation for the Vienna Opera Ball. Blending Austrian heritage and modern elegance, the House has designed the signature tiara for this iconic event since 1956.

Each year, guests receive an invitation to be swept away in the beauty of the ball, experiencing moments of joy and elegance fit for royalty. For the second consecutive year, the tiara is coupled with a tie pin created to unify the debutantes and their escorts as they enter beneath the glittering lights of the Vienna State Opera. This year, 160 pairs will make their debut, shining in matching Swarovski jewels.

For 2026, Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert drew inspiration from the famed Swarovski Swan emblem as the House continues its celebration of 130 Years of Joy. Adorned with 315 stones, the Swarovski Tiara is a shining symbol of beauty and love exquisitely crafted with infinite savoir-faire.

More than a jewel, the tiara embodies Swarovski’s legacy of superlative creativity, technical innovation, and mastery of light. Composed of round, pear, marquise, and baguette cuts, the design is elevated by a single pear-cut crystal at the Swan’s neck, bringing its grace, elegance, and poise to life.

Alexis Nasard, Swarovski CEO, said: “Swarovski has been a proud partner of the Vienna Opera Ball since 1956, united by our shared history and values. Our enduring relationship with the Vienna Opera Ball reinforces our support of the creative arts, while also being deeply connected to our Austrian heritage.”

Giovanna Engelbert, Swarovski Global Creative Director, said: “For the 2026 Opera Ball, I wanted to create a tiara that celebrates the Swarovski Swan, the source of so much inspiration. The tiara and matching tie pin honor the elegance, grace, and beauty of the Swan, mirrored in the debutantes and their dance partners at the ball. These pieces spark joy, and light up such a special night in Austria’s cultural calendar.”

Bogdan Roscic, Vienna State Opera Director, said: “Year after year, the festive entry of the debutants with the opening committee is one of the highlights of the Opera Ball. It is followed by millions on TV and attracts even greater attention across social media these days. None of these iconic images would be possible without our partnership with Swarovski — without the tiaras and, since last year, the gentlemen’s crystal pins.”

From mid-January until mid-March the House will present a traveling exhibition of Swarovski Tiaras through the ages will feature designs by Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Lacroix. The exquisite pieces will be showcased in Vienna and New York.

Visitors to Vienna will be able to view the 2026 Swarovski Tiara at Swarovski Kristallwelten Store Wien, Kärntner Straße 24, where it will be exhibited until March 14th, 2026.

The Vienna Opera Ball takes place on February 12, 2026.
