Bangkok, – This Mid-Autumn Festival, celebrated on Monday, 6 October 2025, honour centuries of tradition with a contemporary twist at Mill & Co. Observed across China, Thailand, Vietnam, and much of East and Southeast Asia, the festival traces its origins to ancient moon worship and harvest rituals dating back over 2,000 years to the Zhou dynasty. It later evolved into the form we know today during the Tang and Song dynasties, becoming a cherished celebration of reunion, and gratitude under the radiant full moon.
At the heart of the celebration is the mooncake – round like the moon, and rich with meaning. Its shape symbolises wholeness, unity, and the cyclical nature of life, while the act of sharing mooncakes reflects reunion, harmony, and the bonds that tie families together, near or far.
