Not every young person who leaves the education system lacks potential, all they lack is opportunity. That belief became the foundation of KFC Bucket Search, an initiative by the KFC Foundation Thailand supporting out-of-school children and youth under the belief that “No Potential Should Be Wasted”. Because every kid deserves the chance to discover what they are capable of, the project goes beyond helping youth return to the classroom. It also seeks to uncover the hidden potential within each individual, whether in coffee-making, barbering, baking, singing, or playing music, opening pathways for them to grow in ways that best reflect who they are.

This year, KFC Bucket Search takes that belief one step further by embracing “music” as another pathway to discover the potential of young people who continue striving through life’s challenges, including EarthKit, Got Phatthapee, Bak Kham Phan Band, and Just Do It Band. Through WAVS by Warner Music Thailand, KFC Bucket Search supported these young artists to an intensive 10-month workshop program that introduced them to every side of the music industry — from discovering their artistic identity and building their own voice, to songwriting, music production, and understanding the business behind a career in music. Today, that journey results in their very first original songs and Music Videos, opening the door to new opportunities and possible career paths in their future.
Now, EarthKit, Got Phatthapee, Bak Kham Phan Band, and Just Do It Band are ready to introduce themselves to the world — not just as dreamers, but as aspiring artists. With four original songs and Music Videos that are so well-crafted, you’d almost forget these are the works of young people who simply refused to give up on themselves.
Each track released is a deeply personal reflection of its artist’s journey:
- “Khrai Sak Khon” (Someone) by EarthKit — Inspired by his father, a traditional Thai Likay performer, EarthKit taught himself to sing from childhood. Always dreaming of the day he’d have a song of his own.
- “Kham San Ya” (Promise) by Got Phatthapee — A heartfelt apology to his mother, written from a place of genuine remorse and love, expressed through his passion for guitar and songwriting.
- “Ya Yom Phae” (Don’t Give Up) by Bak Kham Phan Band — “Bak Kham Phan” means someone who wastes their parents’ money. But Can (bass), New (rhythm guitar), Fuse (lead guitar), Fluke (vocals), and Four (drums) are determined to rewrite that story — using music to prove their worth and repay that faith.
- “Kho Roem Mai” (A Fresh Start) by Just Do It Band — Night (vocals), Tod (keyboard), Nam (bass), First (guitar), and Bank (drums) found each other through a shared dream: to become full-time artists. And together, they turned that dream into a song.
KFC Bucket Search provided these young artists with the skills, tools, and opportunities to develop their potential and to tell their own stories. The outcome is music and Music Videos that impressively reflect each artist’s identity, thoughts, and life experiences. It is clear that what they received was not a chance to become artists, but a chance to begin again, and build a life they can call their own.
This marks another milestone for KFC Bucket Search in expanding opportunities for out-of-school youth, proving that they are not without potential, nor are they any less capable than anyone else. Through initiatives like the music program, and continued pathways in education and vocational development, the platform gives young people a choice, to return to formal learning or to build skills aligned with their interests.
The goal remains constant: to ensure that no potential goes to waste, and that every young person is equipped to re-enter society with purpose and confidence. More importantly, it stands as a reminder to other out-of-school children everywhere that their story is not over yet.
