The event aims to attract over 11,000 international and domestic visitors, generating an estimated circulating cash flow of no less than 150 million Baht throughout the six-day festival.

Mr. Ekachat Seetavorarat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, stated, “The gem and jewelry industry is a vital mechanism driving the national economy, currently ranking as the country’s third-largest export sector. Thailand also stands as the world’s third-largest exporter of colored gemstones. Chanthaburi Province is considered crucial fundamental pillar of this industry, serving as a comprehensive, globally recognized hub. From raw material sourcing and manufacturing to the exquisite craftsmanship of gem cutting—a local wisdom passed down through generations—to robust trading and exporting activities, Chanthaburi is truly the ‘Global City of Gems’.”
“Now in its sixth year, the Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry International Festival 2025 is organized under the concept ‘Chanthaburi City of Gems.’ Our goal is to propel Chanthaburi as a premier international stage for gem and jewelry trade, elevate the potential of Thai entrepreneurs, expand business opportunities, and drive sustainable growth for the local economy,” Mr. Ekachat added.
Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, Director General of GIT, emphasized the scale of this year’s event: “The festival features over 300 booths from both Thai and international exhibitors, offering a complete range of products including Rough Gemstones, Polished Gemstones, Jewelry Components, Finished Jewelry, and Equipment and Machinery. To bolster Thai entrepreneurs and stimulate trade and investment, the event features several high-value activities: such as Business matching , Gems night networking event, in-depth seminars on Digital marketing and design, and knowledge-sharing sessions by the Thai Goldsmith Association on traditional craftsmanship integrated with modern AI technology, alongside workshops by various universities and organizations.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the allure of Thai gemstones and witness the mastery of Thai cutting and design through three highlight exhibitions: The 19th GIT’s World Jewelry Design Award 2025, The Gems Treasure Jewelry Exhibition and The Chanthaburi Entrepreneurs Jewelry Exhibition. A crowd favorite, the “Gem Mystery Box,” also returns, drawing significant attention from visitors.
“GIT stands ready to support entrepreneurs, buyers, and consumers in trading with confidence. We are hosting the BWC Business Matching activity under the Buy With Confidence (BWC) project, providing on-site gem and jewelry testing services by GIT experts, and offering consultation services regarding GIT Standards,” Mr. Sumed affirmed.
To add vibrancy to Chanthaburi’s major annual festival and stimulate year-end tourism, the event offers more than just trading. Visitors can experience the charm of Chanthaburi across all dimensions—nature, culture, community lifestyle, and local cuisine. Special activities include the “Gems Tour,” which traces the gemstone route and explores local wisdom in gemstone heat treatment and cutting techniques. Attendees can also participate in the “Passport Challenge: Shop, Taste, Chill,” checking in at landmarks to redeem special souvenirs. Furthermore, the “GEMS DAY GET GIFT” campaign rewards shoppers who spend 5,000 Baht within the event with exclusive souvenirs.
The “International Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry Festival 2025” is being held from December 5–10, 2025, at the Chanthaburi Gem and Jewelry Center, KP Jewelry Center, and the Gems Market on Srichan Road.
