MR. D.I.Y. Showcases Success of the “MR. D.I.Y. Art Competition 2025”

MR. D.I.Y. announced the success of the MR. D.I.Y. Art Competition 2025, held for the first time in Thailand under the theme “Identity and Diversity.” The competition marked a milestone in the Thai art scene, as MR. D.I.Y. provided a platform for emerging artists and art enthusiasts nationwide to share their perspectives and inspirations through works that deeply reflect identity and society. More than 1,000 pieces were submitted by young artists, students, and the public, while the exhibition welcomed over 80,000 visitors.

Mr. Arnupharp Kongmalai, Vice President of Marketing Department, MR. D.I.Y. Holding (Thailand) Public Company Limited, said, “From the outset, MR. D.I.Y. has recognized the importance of creative expression, which inspired the launch of the MR. D.I.Y. Contemporary Art Competition 2025, held for the first time this year. Throughout the program, we have witnessed the creative energy that connects people and underscores the value of identity and diversity, transforming it into a powerful force for social development in culture, education, and inspiration for the younger generation. MR. D.I.Y. is proud to be part of this journey and remains committed to continuing this platform of inspiration in the years ahead, as a brand that truly cares for and sustainably invests in society.”

The competition, originally launched in Malaysia by MR. D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad, expanded to Thailand in 2025. Entries were open nationwide from 11 February 2025 to emerging artists, students, and the general public.

A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the submissions, including Asst. Prof. Vichaya Mukdamanee, PhD, Vice-President for Arts and Culture at Silpakorn University and Assistant Professor in the Department of Painting, Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University; Asst. Prof. Sitthidham Rohitasuk, PhD, Head of the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University; and Ajarn Subhachog Chumsai Na Ayutthaya, Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University. From all submissions, 50 finalists were shortlisted before winners were selected across two categories: nine awards in the student category and nine awards in the public category, with total prizes valued at over THB 1,010,000.

All 50 finalist works were showcased under the title “MR. D.I.Y. Art Competition 2025” at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and MunMun Gallery, Srinakarin Seacon Square, from August 5 to 17.

The competition also provides winners with the opportunity to advance to the regional stage in Malaysia, organized by MR. D.I.Y. Group (M) Berhad. This represents a significant step in elevating Thai artists onto the international stage.

“MR. D.I.Y. would like to thank all of the artists who submitted their works, as well as the visitors for their support. We are pleased to contribute to the advancement of Thai art and will continue to stand alongside emerging artists by carrying this platform of inspiration into the coming years,” concluded Mr. Arnupharp.
