Bangkok, Friday, 16 October 2026 – MOCA BANGKOK and Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River proudly present CONTINUUM: สายศิลป์, an exhibition bringing together fourteen contemporary artists and selected works by seven major figures in Thai modern art from the MOCA BANGKOK collection. Curated by Kit Bencharongkul, the exhibition marks the sixth anniversary and the 21st presentation of Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok ART Space by MOCA BANGKOK. The exhibition will be on view October 16, 2026 – January 31, 2027 at ART Space by MOCA BANGKOK, Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River.

CONTINUUM explores how artworks from the past can continue to generate new ideas in the present. Rather than presenting artistic heritage as a fixed history, the exhibition considers it as an ongoing process shaped by looking, questioning, and reinterpretation. Works from the MOCA BANGKOK collection serve as starting points for fourteen contemporary artists, who respond to them through their own experiences, perspectives, and artistic practices.
The selected works by Thai modern artists reflect a wide range of approaches to line, color, form, and composition. They also engage with religion, spirituality, Buddhist philosophy, mythology, nature, the body, and the cosmos. The contemporary artists do not reproduce the styles of their predecessors. Instead, they respond to a gesture, symbol, atmosphere, image, or idea that they discover in the original works, transforming those encounters into new paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media works.
The exhibition features Aimi Kaiya, Aphist Sid, Baisri, Benzilla, Bigdel, Chayanin Kwangkaew, Hattapon Tadboonkaew-Amorn, Mos Rattapon, Napanant Rangsrithummakhun, NEV3R, Nino Sarabutra, Rukkit, Temjai Cholsiri, and Yanapat Soiraya. All fourteen artists have previously exhibited at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok ART Space by MOCA BANGKOK. Their return connects past exhibitions with new works and extends the evolving history of the ART Space.
One of the exhibition’s central concerns is the changing meaning of Thai identity. CONTINUUMpresents identity as something shaped by lived experience and cultural exchange rather than as a fixed image rooted solely in tradition. Religious belief and ritual may appear alongside popular culture. Mythical creatures may exist alongside the human body. Regional language may meet street art, technology, and conceptual practices.
Through these connections, the exhibition brings together different perspectives without presenting a single definition of Thai art. It shows how artistic influence can move across generations while changing through each new encounter. The works in the collection are therefore presented not only as historical objects, but also as active sources of questions and interpretation.
As Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok ART Space by MOCA BANGKOK enters its sixth year, CONTINUUM: สายศิลป์ invites audiences to consider how art can be revisited, reinterpreted, and given new meaning in the present.
