Deputy Prime Minister Prasert presided over the opening of the ODOS Summer Camp Orientation Day to prepare selected Thai youth before they embark on their journey to study at global university and global technology companies in 9 countries.

Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), presided over the opening of the ODOS Summer Camp Orientation Day and delivered an inspirational address to 928 selected Thai youth participants from 878 districts and 50 areas in Bangkok. The ceremony was attended by Mr.Chattarin Chanhom Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs and, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), Dr. Warin Ratchananusorn, Acting Senior Executive Vice President of depa serving as Project Director, and executives from private sector organizations supporting the project. The opening ceremony took place at the depa headquarters, Soi Lat Phrao 10, Chatuchak District.
Mr. Prasert stated that the government, on behalf of Ms.Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, is committed to expanding opportunities for Thai children across all regions throughout the country. The government firmly believes that all Thai youth possess the potential to grow and create remarkable achievements when provided with appropriate support and encouragement. Therefore, the ODOS Summer Camp programme not only provides invaluable knowledge, skills, and experience to the participants but also instills confidence, opens new perspectives, creates inspiration, and fosters friendships that will serve as vital driving forces for the country’s future development.
“The government wishes to encourage all youth participants and urges everyone to be dedicated in acquiring knowledge and experience in all aspects. The opportunities that you receive will serve as valuable capital for your life’s journey. We ask that you return to share and pass on these experiences to your peers and fellow citizens, serving as inspiration and creating tremendous momentum for Thailand’s progress,” said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society.
During the ODOS Summer Camp Orientation Day, all participants attended inspirational presentations and exchanged experiences about overseas study from Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon received detailed information about the programme from Dr. Warin, and learned techniques for sharing experiences through social media platforms to effectively disseminate knowledge back to Thai society. Additionally, participants received essential information for living abroad from embassy representatives and government and private sector agencies throughout the3-day programme. Furthermore, all participants visited Chonburi Province to gain knowledge and experience Thailand’s digital technology and innovation at Kubota Farm, EEC Automation Park, and the Thailand Digital Valley.
The ODOS Summer Camp Orientation Day programme is divided into 2 sessions, with the first session taking place from 16-18 August, and the second session scheduled for 23-25 August.
