WP Energy Wins “Human Rights Award 2026” Reinforcing commitment to ethical governance, workplace equality, and human dignity

WP Energy Public Company Limited, a leading integrated energy group and distributor of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) under the “Worldgas” brand with over 47 years of service in Thailand, has received the prestigious “Human Rights Award 2026” from the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice.

The recognition spotlights WP Energy’s focus on sustainable growth through social responsibility, non-discrimination, and improving quality of life across its entire ecosystem. It validates the group’s systematic integration of international human rights principles into every link of its value chain—underpinned by robust corporate governance, comprehensive risk oversight, and an inclusive workplace culture built on mutual respect.

Chomkamol Poompanmoung, Chief Executive Officer of WP Energy Public Company Limited, said “Sustainable growth must be built on responsibility and an uncompromising respect for human dignity. For WP Energy, embedding human rights across our operations and value chain is more than compliance—it is central to our purpose of delivering clean energy solutions that genuinely uplift communities across Thailand.”

WP Energy operationalizes its human rights commitment in alignment with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and International Labour Organization (ILO) standards. Through an enterprise-wide Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) framework governed by a Three Lines of Defense model, the company focuses on four core pillars: Labor, Community, Environment, and Supply Chain.

Key corporate initiatives advancing these pillars include:

  • “Solar for Good” Initiative: A 60-million-baht commitment to install free solar rooftop systems across 200 public hospitals, temples, and schools nationwide over five years, expanding clean energy access and supporting vulnerable communities.
  • Inclusive Employment: Meaningful job creation tailored to people with disabilities, safeguarding equal career opportunities, fair wages, and dignity in an inclusive work environment.
  • Circular Workplace Solutions: Transitioning to staff uniforms crafted from recycled textiles, cutting emissions, and championing environmental stewardship in adjacent communities.

These consistent, rigorous efforts have earned WP Energy prominent nationwide accolades, including strong ESG ratings, an industry-recognized Best CEO in the LPG Industry honor, and an “Excellent” 5-star Corporate Governance rating in 2025 from the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD).

“The Human Rights Award 2026 is not simply a finish line—it is an ongoing pledge. WP Energy will continue advancing as a responsible energy leader, driving economic progress while advocating for equality, human rights, and a sustainable future for Thai society,” concluded Chomkamol.
