Global specialty chemicals company LANXESS will present innovative and sustainable solutions for the cosmetics and personal care industry at in-cosmetics Asia 2025, held from November 4–6 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

Responding to the growing consumer demand in the ASEAN region for safe, effective, and consumer-friendly cosmetic formulations, LANXESS will highlight its latest preservation innovation and skin-friendly insect repellent active ingredient. The company’s portfolio is structured to help manufacturers meet evolving market and regulatory expectations.

“In ASEAN and beyond, consumers are increasingly looking for personal care products that combine high-performance, sustainability, and proven safety,” said Nanthawat Kerdchuen, Director of LANXESS Thailand. “With Neolone® PH Max and Saltidin®, we provide solutions that meet these expectations while supporting manufacturers with reliable performance and regulatory compliance.”

Neolone® PH Max: Sunflower-powered preservation innovation

A key highlight of LANXESS’ showcase is the launch of Neolone® PH Max, the company’s latest advancement in personal care preservation.

This novel preservative solution combines phenoxyethanol with a naturally derived, multifunctional active ingredient from sunflower oil.

Neolone® PH Max offers environmentally friendly broad-spectrum protection against bacteria and fungi. Effective across a wide pH range from 3-10, non-sensitizing, and available in liquid form, this convenient drop-in solution enables formulators to develop sustainable, and consumer-friendly personal care products such as creams, lotions, and serums.

In addition, LANXESS will feature Neolone® BioT, another sustainable preservative derived from COSMOS-approved ingredients. Based on Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate HCl, it offers excellent protection against bacteria, yeast, and mold. Non-irritating, free from animal-derived ingredients, and Halal-compliant, Neolone® BioT is ideal for formulations with pH values between 3 and 6.

Saltidin®: Proven and safe protection against vector-borne diseases

LANXESS will also spotlight Saltidin® (Icaridin/Picaridin), a WHO-recommended insect repellent active ingredient. As concerns grow in tropical regions like Southeast Asia over vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria, demand is rising for effective yet skin-friendly insect repellent solutions.

Saltidin® offers long-lasting, skin-friendly protection against mosquitoes, ticks, and other biting insects, while remaining colorless, odorless, sweat-resistant, and material-compatible. Its compatibility with cosmetic formulations such as creams, gels, and sprays makes it ideal for multifunctional personal care applications.

In addtion to Saltidin®, Saltigo, a leading custom manufacturing provider, supports the consumer care sector by offering solutions from process development to multi-ton production. The company places a  strong focus on sustainability, zero-waste processes, and the use of renewable raw materials.

LANXESS will also host a technical seminar titled “Insect Repellent Formulations with Cosmetic Properties: The Role of Saltidin®” on November 5, at 11:10 a.m. (Booth AC80), highlighting formulation strategies that combine efficacy with skin-friendliness.
