CIMB THAI AND KRUNGSRI SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE AUTO FINANCING PORTFOLIO TRANSFER

CIMB THAI Bank PCL and Bank of Ayudhya PCL (Krungsri) have announced the successful transfer of auto financing portfolios from CIMB THAI Auto Company Limited and WorldLease Company Limited, subsidiaries of CIMB THAI Bank PCL, to Bank of Ayudhya PCL and Ayudhya Capital Auto Lease PCL (Krungsri Auto), following the completion of the sale. The transaction was completed effective 1 November 2026.

Through close collaboration between the two banks, the transaction was completed on schedule, with strong coordination across operations, system integration and governance processes. Both parties have worked closely to ensure operational readiness and continuity of service for all customers.

Wut Thanittiraporn, President and CEO of CIMB THAI Bank PCL, said the transaction forms part of the Bank’s transformation towards becoming a top of mind bank, focusing on areas where it can differentiate and deliver long-term value, in line with CIMB Group’s Forward30 strategy.

“Our strategy focuses on strengthening businesses where we have the expertise and capabilities to create the greatest value for customers. Optimising our business portfolio will enhance our competitiveness in key growth areas, including Wholesale Banking, leveraging our network and expertise as an ASEAN Bank; wealth management through CIMB PRIVATE WEALTH and CIMB PREFERRED; and Consumer Banking. This will support quality and sustainable growth, in line with CIMB Group’s ‘Moving You Forward’ brand promise.”

Wut added that customer care remains the Bank’s top priority throughout this transition. The Bank would like to reassure customers that the transfer does not affect their existing rights or contractual terms and conditions. Together with Krungsri, both banks have worked together to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted customer service, with customers continuing to benefit from Krungsri’s extensive expertise in the automotive financing business.

Kenichi Yamato, President and Chief Executive Officer of Krungsri, said “Automotive finance is one of Krungsri’s key businesses. Over the years, Krungsri Auto has driven growth through continuous development of innovative products and services, while building a strong Auto Ecosystem in Thailand. These efforts have enabled Krungsri Auto to maintain its leadership position and remain a top brand trusted by customers. While the Group offers a broad range of automotive-related lending products through various business platforms, Krungsri Auto continues to serve as the Group’s principal business platform for hire-purchase financing. This success also provides a strong foundation for Krungsri to leverage its experience, expertise and proven business approach to further develop and expand its retail business across ASEAN.”

“Krungsri remains committed to creating sustainable long-term growth opportunities. This acquisition of the automotive loan portfolios is aligned with our medium-term business plan to expand our customer base and drive quality growth in the retail lending business. At the same time, our highest priority is to ensure a seamless transition for customers joining Krungsri. Leveraging Krungsri Auto’s extensive expertise, nationwide network, and strong Auto Ecosystem, we look forward to supporting these customers, while creating even greater value and opportunities for them in the years ahead.”

The completion of the transaction marks an important milestone for both banks. CIMB THAI will continue pursuing its Forward30 strategy, while Krungsri strengthens its position in automotive finance. Both institutions remain committed to delivering quality services and maintaining customers’ trust and confidence.
