CW Tower Wins ASEAN Energy Awards 2026 Showcases Energy Management Excellence in Large Buildings, Achieving Over 3.2 million kWh in Cumulative Electricity Savings

CW Tower has won the ASEAN Energy Awards 2026 in the Energy Management in Buildings and Industries – Large Building category, held in Manila, the Philippines. The award recognizes the building’s achievements in applying advanced technologies and integrated energy management systems to improve operational efficiency. Between 2022 and 2025, CW Tower achieved cumulative electricity savings of more than 3.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh), while maintaining indoor air quality and reducing its environmental impact.

Mr. Pongsak Nantawannakul, Managing Director of CW Tower, said, “The ASEAN Energy Awards 2026 marks another important milestone that reflects CW Tower’s ongoing commitment to improving energy management efficiency. We believe that energy conservation in large office buildings goes beyond simply reducing electricity consumption. It requires an integrated approach in which all building systems operate efficiently together, including air conditioning, energy control, and indoor air quality management. At the same time, we remain committed to environmental responsibility and enhancing the quality of life of building occupants. We will continue to advance these efforts to support our long-term sustainability goals.”

Prior to receiving recognition at the ASEAN level, CW Tower received an Outstanding Award for Energy Conservation in the Designated Building category at the Thailand Energy Awards 2026 and was subsequently nominated to represent Thailand at the ASEAN Energy Awards 2026. Key energy management initiatives include upgrading its cooling system with high-efficiency Water-Cooled Magnetic Bearing Chiller technology, supported by a Chiller Plant Management System (CPMS) to optimize cooling operations. The building has also installed HVAC Air Scrubber systems to manage indoor air quality while reducing the load on its air conditioning systems. In addition, Direct Digital Controllers (DDC) are used to regulate air conditioning operations according to actual building usage. These initiatives are complemented by environmental and resource management programs, including ZERO Food Waste and the Upcycling Station.

Through the continuous implementation of energy conservation measures from 2022 to 2025, CW Tower achieved cumulative electricity savings of approximately 3,229,000 kWh, resulting in energy cost savings of approximately THB 15.13 million and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 1,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e). These results reflect the building’s systematic approach to improving operational efficiency and managing energy consumption, supporting resource conservation and its long-term ambition to achieve net-zero emissions.

The ASEAN Energy Awards 2026 ceremony was held in Manila, the Philippines, as part of the Gala Dinner and ASEAN Energy Awards 2026. Mr. Pongsak Nantawannakul, Managing Director of CW Tower, received the award from Prof. Dr. Eniya Listiani Dewi, Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia.
