Big Bad Wolf Books is marking a decade in Thailand with its biggest Bangkok Book Sale yet, turning more than 60,000 sq ft across two floors of PLATINUM POP, opposite CentralWorld, into a city-centre Book Hunt from 2–13 October 2026. The 12-day event will bring together more than one million books from more than 40 international and local publishers, with discounts of up to 95%, a Clearance Section starting from THB 20, and doors open daily from 10:00 am until midnight.

A decade of making books more accessible
Ten years ago, Big Bad Wolf came to Thailand with a simple idea: quality books should not feel out of reach. What began as an effort to change how people access books has grown alongside Thai readers themselves. Families who first visited the sale with young children are now returning with teenagers and young adults choosing books for themselves, while some long-time visitors are now parents introducing their own children to reading. Big Bad Wolf’s ambition remains larger than selling books: it is about creating new readers and making books part of everyday life.
“When we first came to Thailand, the belief was simple: books should not be a luxury or something only a few people can easily access. Ten years on, what matters most to us is not simply how many books we sell, but whether we are creating new readers. The discount may bring someone through the door, but the real success is when they leave with a book that opens a new idea, interest or possibility — and that love of reading continues into the next generation,” said Jacqueline Ng, Co-Founder of Big Bad Wolf Books.
A bigger Book Hunt, built for Bangkok
The expanded two-floor footprint creates more room for readers to explore a broader mix of categories, from children’s and young adult titles to fiction, non-fiction, business, self-development and educational books, while giving families and individual visitors more room to browse. With its central Ratchaprasong location and daily opening hours from 10:00 am to midnight, the event offers flexibility for visitors to drop by before or after work or school and browse at their own pace.
Clearance finds from THB 20 — first come, first served
A key highlight this year is the dedicated Clearance Section, covering Children’s Books, Fiction and Non-Fiction, with selected titles starting from just THB 20. Stock will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, giving readers the chance to discover unexpected finds. Across the wider sale, discounts will run up to 95%.
Bestsellers, BookTok favourites and beloved children’s titles
Readers can look out for a mix of internationally recognised authors, bestselling series and familiar family favourites. Highlights include Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid’s Secret, from the Housemaid series that has spent more than 100 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list; Rebecca Yarros’ Iron Flame, an instant No. 1 New York Times bestseller and the sequel to Fourth Wing; and Baek Sehee’s I Want to Die but I Still Want to Eat Tteokbokki, following the internationally bestselling Korean memoir that has reached readers around the world.
For younger readers, CoComelon: Feelings brings the globally recognised preschool brand to life in a board book centred on emotional vocabulary. Other featured authors include David Walliams, with Code Name Bananas, and Jay Shetty, with 8 Rules of Love: How to Find It, Keep It, and Let It Go.
From access to new readers
Big Bad Wolf’s model is built around making books more affordable at scale through high-volume buying and a mix of overstocks, remaindered titles, reprints and selected co-published books. Remaindered books are new, good-quality books left in excess after the original retail cycle — not second-hand books. By connecting that inventory with readers in new markets, Big Bad Wolf gives more books another chance to be discovered.
After a decade in Thailand, the organisation sees the milestone not simply as an anniversary, but as evidence of a reading community that has grown with the event. Young Adult, once a smaller category in Bangkok, is now among the sale’s top-selling categories, reflecting how reading interests have evolved. The next chapter remains anchored in the same goal: reaching people who may not yet see themselves as readers and helping more families build reading into everyday life.
