Exploring Data Protection, Cyber Resilience, and Secure Hybrid Cloud Technologiesfor Business Continuity in the Digital Age

Metro Connect Co., Ltd. (MCC), in collaboration with IBM (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (IBM) and SCSi Co., Ltd. (SCSi), jointly held the seminar “Building High-Performance Platforms with IBM Storage, Power & PowerVS” on June 18, 2026, at the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. The event opened with remarks from Mr. Varuch Rattanatumma, Assistant Vice President of Metro Connect, and Ms. Nuntharat Sagetayadaphong, Managing Director of SCSi, who shared their perspectives on the importance of IT infrastructure in the digital era and the need to adopt technologies that are efficient, secure, and capable of supporting long-term business growth. This was followed by three presentations.

Mr. Tawan Viratsakultip, Senior Presales Specialist at Metro Connect, presented on “IBM Storage, The Next-Gen Cyber Resilience,” introducing the concept of cyber resilience that enables organizations to protect their data, maintain business continuity, and recover systems with confidence amid cyber threats. He highlighted that data has become a critical asset driving every business process, and that data disruption can directly impact operations. IBM FlashSystem, he noted, is a key solution that strengthens data security and integrity while helping organizations sustain continuous and stable business operations.

Mr. Norawee Seneewongse Na Ayuthaya, Technical Sales Specialist at IBM, spoke on “Powering the Next Generation of Secure Hybrid Cloud Enterprise,” outlining approaches to building IT infrastructure that is secure, flexible, and ready to adapt to business changes in the hybrid cloud era. He discussed IBM Power and Power Virtual Server (PowerVS), technologies designed to support mission-critical business workloads with high performance and a strong level of security.

Mr. Wira Chinwong, Director – Engineering Service at SCSi, presented on “Air-Gap Technology: Double Shield for Your Backup Data,” sharing strategies for protecting backup data in an era of escalating cyber threats. He emphasized that organizations need to strengthen their defenses with air-gap technology and immutable storage to effectively isolate and protect backup data from primary working environments. He also introduced the concept of “Double Shield Architecture,” which integrates the capabilities of IBM FlashSystem SafeGuarded Copy to help organizations recover systems and resume business operations quickly and confidently.
