Prepare to be deeply moved and filled with pride in Thai identity on a remarkable evening of musical power and patriotism, as timeless melodies such as “Rak Kan Wai Thoet, Rao Koet Ruam Daen Thai…” and many other beloved songs resound once again on a national concert stage, echoing across the world. The National Unity Concert entitled “A Concert Tribute in Loyal Remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sitikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand” is a truly special performance that brings together distinguished artists and the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) to convey stories of unity and pride in Thai identity through songs cherished across generations.

This marks yet another outstanding musical event of the year, arising from the collaboration of Mahidol University, the College of Music, Mahidol University, the Mahidol University Alumni Association under the Royal Patronage, in partnership with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited and Global Plus Intertainment Agency Co., Ltd., with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra: TPO) undertaking the grand and emotionally powerful presentation of patriotic compositions.

The press conference was honored by the presence of numerous distinguished executives and eminent personalities, including Professor Piyamitr Sritara,MD,FRCP, President of Mahidol University; Assistant Professor Dr. Piyawat Louilarpprasert, Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University; Colonel (Special Rank) Sr.Col Dr. Prateep Suphanrojn (Conductor of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra); Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Chairwoman of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra; Mr. Chai Eamsiri, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited; and Mr. Kittiphong Sansomboon, Chief Commercial Officer of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited. Also in attendance were Ms. Ratchada Sattapong (President of Global Plus Intertainment Agency Co., Ltd.), Mr. Thawatchai Kritiyapichatkul, and Mr. Chaowchai Jiemvijid (Chairman of the Board of the Thai Chamber of Commerce), together with the distinguished artists who will perform in this historic concert, including Flight Lieutenant (Female) Kanlayarat Korasutthinan, Petty Officer First Class (Female) Traisikka Phuengchumchuen, Lance Corporal Phanthanon Wangkahat, and Ms. Kamonporn Huncharoen. The event also featured a special performance of the song “Thai Samakkhi” by Poom Kaewfajarroen, a choral rendition of “Rak Kan Wai Thoe” by the Mahidol University Choir, and a special lecture delivered by Mom Luang Panadda Diskul, Secretary-General of the Princess Srisavangavadhana Foundation under Royal Patronage, on the topic “The Royal Benevolence of the Mother of the Land and the Power of Thai Arts and Culture,” held at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara,MD,FRCP President of Mahidol University, spoke about the organization of the National Unity Concert entitled “A Concert Tributte in Loyal Remembrance of her Majesty Queen Sitikit, The Mother of Thailand” as follows: “This event is organized in reverent remembrance and to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and to continue Her royal aspiration of utilizing music and the arts as a creative force for Thai society. Mahidol University, internationally recognized for its excellence, has nurtured numerous distinguished artists and highly accomplished music professionals who have consistently produced outstanding musical works. On this occasion, we shall unite our hearts as one to convey our love, our profound gratitude for Her boundless benevolence, and our pride in Thai identity through treasured musical compositions on this historic evening at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University — a concert hall equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound technology, and renowned for possessing one of the finest acoustic systems.”

Mom Luang Panadda Diskul, Secretary-General of the Princess Srisavangavadhana Foundation under Royal Patronage, stated in his address entitled “The Great Royal Benevolence of the Mother of the Land and the Power of Thai Arts and Culture” that: “Thai arts and culture are not merely a beautiful legacy of the past; they are a living force that enables the Thai people to prosper and to take pride in their own roots.”

Dr. Piyawat Louilarpprasert , Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, further stated: “The College of Music is an internationally recognized institution for music education, with a mission to nurture outstanding artists and musicians while cultivating a strong sense of social and national responsibility. We firmly believe that music is not merely the art of beauty and harmony; rather, it is a powerful force capable of delicately connecting and uniting the hearts of people. This role will be made tangible through the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, which stands at the heart of the College of Music and upholds its position as the ‘Voice of the Nation.’”

Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Chairwoman of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), further stated: “As Chairwoman of the Board and together with the executive management, we are firmly committed to advancing the TPO in fulfilling its role as the nation’s classical orchestra with dignity and honor. Our role extends beyond the performance of musical works; it encompasses the preservation of national identity and the reflection of the spiritual values of society through the power of music. The TPO is not merely an orchestra; it is the ‘Voice of the Nation’ — preserving memories, conveying loyalty, and uniting hearts as one under the gracious Royal Benevolence bestowed upon the Thai people. This represents a significant step in strengthening the development of Thai music onto the global stage with stability and confidence. I reaffirm our steadfast intention to dedicate our musical service in a manner befitting the highest honor, with unwavering commitment and loyalty, while continually elevating our performance standards to the international level.”

The performance of the “National Unity Concert” entitled “Music of Loyalty: A Hundred Hearts United in Grateful Remembrance of His Majesty’s Benevolence” will be presented by the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra: TPO), conducted by Colonel (Special Rank) Sr.Col.Dr. Prateep Suphanrojn. The concert will also feature distinguished vocalists, including Teeranai Na Nongkai, Poom Kaewfajarroen, Kalyarat Kornsuttinan, Puntanon Wangkahat, Bhisa Suansri, Koh Mr.Saxman, Lalit Worathepnitinan, Nattaporn Thammathi, Kamonporn Huncharoen, Korawij Devahastin na Ayudhaya, and Traisikha Phueangchumchuen, together with the Mahidol University Choir.
