UD Trucks has launched the heavy-duty Quester MY2026, reflecting its commitment to delivering performance and long-term value to businesses in growing markets worldwide. The new model comes with enhanced efficiency, safety, and uptime, as well as improved cab design and new features to help reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and increase return on investment.

Ms. Wilawan Visapapew, Managing Director of UD Trucks Corporation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. revealed that: “Over the past two years, UD Trucks Thailand has introduced Euro 5 standard trucks to the market and has received clear nationwide customer acceptance. This is reflected in a 10% increase in market share, proving the quality of our products and the trust customers place in our brand.

We are confident that the MY2026 Quester, representing the next level of development, will be well received by transport operators—especially the Quester equipped with the 8-liter 350 HP engine paired with the ESCOT automated manual transmission. It is well suited for both short-haul and regional heavy-duty transport operations. Based on our company’s test conditions, the fuel efficiency result of 4.5 km/liter is at a satisfactory level.

Test results show satisfactory fuel efficiency. In addition, new features support drivers in their work, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen profitability for the sustainable success of our customers.”

Comprehensive Features to Enhance Driver Performance and Fuel Efficiency

  1. Quester Raises the Standard of Fuel Efficiency with Advanced Engineering Technology, such as:

Quester raises the standard of fuel efficiency with advanced engineering technologies, including:

  • ESCOT transmission (available for both GH8 350 HP and GH11 410 HP engines), maintaining strong torque over a wide low-RPM range.
  • Euro 5-compliant engines with SCR technology to reduce emissions, along with advanced fuel injection systems that minimize environmental impact without compromising performance.

2.Enhanced Driving Assistance Features

Driver skills and behavior directly affect fuel consumption. Inconsistent driving, such as harsh acceleration, can lead to unnecessary fuel usage. Quester therefore comes with features that simplify driving and promote proper driving behavior:

  • Fuel Coach system integrated with the Engine Management System, providing guidance on gear shifting, braking, and acceleration to maintain the most fuel-efficient engine range.
  • Cruise Control, reducing unnecessary acceleration and braking on long routes.
  • My UD Truck application, enabling analysis of driving behavior, pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and locating nearby service centers, AdBlue stations, or fuel stations.
  • 7-inch touchscreen display, supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
  1. Safety: Protecting Your Most Valuable Assets

UD Trucks’ goal of “Safety that puts people first” is central to the design of the Quester. Safety features include:

  • ESC (Electronic Stability Control) to prevent skidding and rollovers.
  • EBS (Electronic Braking System) for improved stopping performance with anti-lock braking support.
  • Rear Air Suspension with remote height adjustment (available on the 11-liter engine model).
  • ECE R29-certified cab, tested for structural strength and impact resistance to reduce injury risk.
  • ADR compliance, with electrical systems designed for the safe transport of hazardous materials.
  • SRS airbag installed in the steering wheel, activated in severe collisions.
  • Parking Brake Alarm, warning the driver if the parking brake is not engaged when opening the door.
  1. Uptime: Increasing Productivity, Reducing Downtime

The UD Quester is designed with “maximum uptime” in mind, helping businesses operate continuously by reducing downtime and increasing productivity. The 11-liter engine model offers extended Preventive Maintenance (PM) intervals of up to every 60,000 kilometers, reducing service frequency and long-term maintenance costs.

  1. UD Connected Services — Track and Manage Costs Anywhere, on Any Route

Fleet owners can also utilize UD Connected Services, a fleet management system accessible via application and web portal. It allows monitoring of vehicle health before and after operations, provides key maintenance planning data, reduces the risk of unexpected breakdowns, and ensures confidence on every route.

Ms. Wilawan concluded, “To celebrate this launch, we are offering special promotions for customers who watch the live launch event. The Quester 8-liter 350 HP with ESCOT automated manual transmission is available at a special price of 2.99 million THB.
