Brandnow.asia: Turning ESG Challenges into Business Opportunities for SMEs

As global supply chains face increasing scrutiny, Brandnow.asia and Agence de Tounens are hosting a free live webinar on March 10th, “Turning ESG Challenges into Business Opportunities for SMEs,”

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, a framework used by investors and businesses to measure a company’s sustainability, ethical impact, and operational resilience beyond financial metrics.

The session features Lucile Charriaut, Founder of Agence de Tounens, and Pacharee Pantoomano, Bangkok-based Brand Strategist and Business Builder. They aim to move ESG from a “confusing administrative burden” to a practical management tool.

“For SMEs, ESG starts with prioritizing the issues that genuinely affect the business. Turning challenges into operational improvements builds the resilience today’s market demands,” says Pacharee

“ESG is about understanding exposure and managing risk, not just communication,” says Lucile. The session highlights that even small firms can gain a competitive edge by treating ESG as a core business strategy.

Practical ESG for Smaller Firms

While many ESG frameworks are designed for large corporations, SMEs face unique “exposure” through client questionnaires and bank requirements. The webinar introduces the SME ESG Loop, a four-step process to manage risk:

  • Identify Exposure: Recognize pressure from high-impact sectors, exporters, or consumer-facing brands.
  • Prioritize Material Risks: Focus on 3–5 topics that affect operations, costs, or contracts.
  • Act and Track: Implement practical changes, such as tracking energy use or reviewing supplier safety.
  • Communicate Simply: Use short, factual summaries instead of long formal reports to build credibility.
