SODECIA AAPICO JV Invests USD 120 Million in a New Manufacturing Facility in South Carolina, USA to Produce Ladder Frames for Scout Motors. The new 400,000-square-foot plant will be one of the most advanced facilities in the region and is expected to create nearly 400 jobs. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for December 8, 2025.

SODECIA and AAPICO, both global automotive parts manufacturers, announced the establishment of their strategic equal joint venture in May this year. The partnership combines the strengths and expertise of both companies to meet the chassis frame requirements of Scout Motors, a member of the Volkswagen Group.
This investment positions the SODECIA AAPICO JV as a critical supplier to Scout Motors, which is reviving an iconic American automotive brand and is currently developing its new production hub in Blythewood, South Carolina, located near the JV project site.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new plant will take place on December 8, 2025. Designed with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, advanced automation, and efficient energy-management systems that meet global standards, the facility is expected to be completed by 2027.
The investment will strengthen the local automotive ecosystem, create high-quality jobs, attract additional suppliers to the region, and support workforce development in Orangeburg County and surrounding areas.
