“MIRROR HOUSE” Opens Door to “Aruta Soup’s Universe” Japanese Street Artist’s First Solo Exhibition in Thailand

Get ready for “MIRROR HOUSE”, an important solo exhibition in Thailand by Japanese street artist “Aruta Soup”. To be held at Maison JE Bangkok, the event will run from 8 November to 21 December 2025.
Universe of Aruta Soup
MIRROR HOUSE opens the door to the universe of Aruta Soup, exhibiting paintings that combine free-flowing lines with distinctive colors and energy of fun to reflect the connections between people and everything all around. “ZERO,” the bandaged rabbit character, symbolizes hopes and new beginnings.
Talking about his subtle philosophy, the artist says,
“I believe that the path toward an ideal world is never a single straight line but an endless constellation of possibilities.
A shop you happen to step into, a book you casually pick up, a friend you meet again after many years such seemingly accidental moments may quietly work within the depths of the unconscious, guiding us toward our deepest ideals.
Even when our choices don’t feel deliberate, reality is woven from countless decisions, linking together to create the present. Looking back, what once seemed irrelevant often reveals itself as a turning point.
Events, living beings, and objects are all connected in subtle chains that shape the world.”
“ZERO”: Symbol of Hopes & New Beginnings
The highlight of MIRROR HOUSE by Aruta Soup is his bandaged rabbit character, ZERO.
“My character “zero” captures fragments of everyday life, expressing this sense of invisible interconnection,” the artist quips.
Once a shadow that imitated humans, he grows into a symbol of new beginnings, hope, and renewal.
A recurring motif in the artist’s paintings, ZERO symbolizes human resilience in the noise-heavy information age of modern society. Though constantly wounded, it is always reborn. The character reflects a duality, struggling with inner conflict while overcoming it with an inexplicable sense of optimism.
For Aruta Soup, “ZERO” is not just a symbol but a spiritual partner and a touchstone he returns to throughout different stages of his life.
Free-Flowing Lines…Graffiti That Leads to Inner World
With its liberated strokes, vibrant colors, and playful graffiti energy, this exhibition invites viewers to explore the connection between the outer world and the unpredictable inner realm—a journey to uncover the hidden meanings and delicate threads woven through every dimension of life.
While graffiti art is often associated with flatness or repetitive patterns, Aruta Soup’s approach challenges these conventions. His work stays true to the principles of fine art, focusing on flowing, freehand lines and a mastery of color that reflects his personal vision.
In today’s digital world, Aruta Soup explores the meaning of physical creation. The warmth and accessibility of his characters show his ongoing dedication to perfecting his craft.
From London to Frontline of Japanese Street Art
Aruta Soup moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 17 and enrolled at Camberwell College of Arts in London.
Deeply influenced by East London’s vibrant club culture and graffiti scene, his work captures the psychological states of the people around him and addresses local issues with sensitivity and, at times, sharp humor.
Since returning to Japan in 2012, he has held solo exhibitions and joined art fairs in numerous countries, including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China. He has also collaborated with many famous brands such as Medicom Toy and CASETiFY.
Aruta Soup is widely celebrated for his distinctive blend of anime culture and British humor. He is currently represented by Whitestone Gallery, one of Asia’s leading art institutions renowned for its focus on contemporary Japanese art. This partnership further cements his reputation as a successful and internationally acclaimed contemporary artist.
