Professor Dr. Paul Kirchhof is resigning from his mandate as member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank with effect from July 15, 2006, in order to be able to dedicate more time to his wide-ranging activities and interests in law and research.
The Management Board and Supervisory Board noted his decision with regret and expressed their thanks to Professor Dr. Kirchhof, who has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2004, for his dedicated work on behalf of the bank.
The Management Board and Supervisory Board have asked Professor Dr. Theo Siegert (59) to join the Supervisory Board. Professor Dr. Siegert looks back on a career of more than 30 years at Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, where he was Chief Financial Officer for many years and most recently Chairman of the Managing Board until the end of 2005. Furthermore, he holds a number of other supervisory board mandates. He is Honorary Professor of "Financial Analysis and Company Management" at Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich.
The Management Board of Deutsche Bank has filed an application with the Frankfurt am Main Local Court to appoint Professor Dr. Siegert to replace Professor Dr. Kirchhof as member of the Supervisory Board.
