On Show! The Biggest Philatelic Phenomenon of the Year “Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition”

          at Royal Paragon Hall, 5th Floor of Siam Paragon, Mr. Pansak Siriruchatapong, Vice Minister for Digital Economy and Society, was honored to preside over the opening ceremony"Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition", jointly organized by the Philatelic Association of Thailand under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and Thailand Post Co., Ltd. with the collaboration of partners from various sectors, under the concept of the 'Amazing Thailand Tourism in Digital 4.0 Era'. Major highlights are the exhibition of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn private collection of 191 pieces of postcards that have never been seen by the public, unveiling of Thai History in the "Archives of the Three Dynasties" corner, rare stamps and collectibles collected from around the world valued many thousand million-baht, world-class stamp contest and collection of special commemorative memorial stamps "Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition" in five special designs. The exhibition will be held during Wednesday 28 November – Monday 3 December, 2018 at Royal Paragon Hall, 5th floor of Siam Paragon.
          Mr. Pansak Siriruchatapong, Vice Minister for Digital Economy and Society, the Event Chairman, stated that this Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition is considered as the greatest event of the year which collects all rare stamps and collectibles collected from around the world to show in one place, resulting in well surprising participating public and students. It is expected to promote Thailand's tourism which is entering high season with a lot of foreign tourists coming to Thailand. This event will attract many tourists to view and be another channel to generate greater incomes, stimulating Thailand economy at the end of the year.
          Dr. Prakob Jirakitti, President of the Philatelic Association of Thailand under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn stated that the good cooperation from all sectors forms this greatest event of the year, collecting rare stamps and collectibles collected from around the world to display in. "Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition", this is the 6th time that Thailand is honored to be a host, it helps to publicize and enhance the stamp collection to be on international standard, and also promote Thailand tourism to be more globally well-known via the show of Thai unique cultures.
The exhibition is comprised of many significant corners including the exhibition in honour of H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, exhibition of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn private collection of 191 pieces of postcards, a major highlight is the display of Her Royal Highness's 20 philatelic rarities that have never been seen by the public, exhibition of major events and milestones taken place during the three dynasties of the Thai monarchy including Ayutthaya Period, Thonburi Period and Rattanakosin Era, world-class stamp contest where winners of each award class will be honoured with three world-class achievement awards presented by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a massive number of stamp collectors and philatelists from all over the world have expressed their keen interests in joining the contest, with over 600 collections masterpieces worth billions of baht. Additionally, it includes 'Grand Prix Club' and 'Special Prize' corners and stage forums, participants will obtain knowledge, entertainment and joyfulness with rare items and free entrance.
          Mrs. Samorn Therdthampibul, Managing Director of Thailand Post Co., Ltd. said that Thailand Post launches commemorative 'Thailand 2018 World Stamp Exhibition' stamps vary in five special designs linking the Tourism Authority of Thailand's 55-secondary city tourism festival. There are five must-visit tourist attractions in 5 provinces (in 5 regions) selected as tourism highlights, including 1) The Ban Tha Chomphu Bridge in Lamphun province, 2) The Lotus Memorial Park in Sakon Nakhon, 3) The Black Sand Beach in Trat province, 4) The Drum-Making Village in Ang Thong province, and 5) The Stone Arch in Satun province. The five stamp collections will be made available for sale on November 28, 2018, priced at 3 and 15 baht each. Additionally, the "Stamp Journey" Travelling Everywhere in Thai Style, featured in the event's five-region tourism exhibition, comes up with interactive activities such as Fossil Dig, Dinosaur Hunt in northeast region, Fortune stick practice for fortune telling from Trimitr Temple in central region, participants will get a passport to join activities in five major regions and achieve RC in each activity to be awarded of souvenir.
          Within the exhibition, Thailand Post will also be selling stamps, collectibles and other souvenirs including the highlight, the designed iStamp by participant themselves. Very Special Guests! Tae-Tawan and New – Thitipoom, famous actors will join the event on this Sunday, 2 December, 2018
