 Thai Airways International Public Company Limited won the Thailand ICT Awards EXPO 2009 under the category of tourism and hospitality from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology for Cabin Attendant Pre-Flight Study and Briefing System, which was designed and developed by THAI staff. The Thailand ICT Awards EXPO 2009 awards presentation will be presided over by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology and took place at the Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty The King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary, on Chaengwattana Road, recently.

Norahuch Ployyai, THAI Executive Vice President for Operations, said the Cabin Attendant Pre-Flight Study and Briefing System software designed by THAI staff won the Thailand ICT Awards EXPO 2009 under the category of tourism and hospitality from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. THAI is the first airline to have invented the software for cockpit and cabin crews, with access to the flight information prior to flight operation at anytime and anywhere from personal computers and on every mobile phone network. Currently, 10,000 cockpit and cabin crew use this software.
Cabin Attendant Pre-Flight Study and Briefing System software is the software that introduces On-line Real Time System enabling pre-flight information for crew members that includes flight information, flight schedule, passenger frequency, inflight catering, weather, updated news information of destination city, aircraft information and local greetings. Cabin crews are able to prepare themselves prior to flight operation. With accessible information via SSL VPN with OTP Token everywhere in the world, they are able to get information from home, hotels abroad with their notebook or accessible computer. This software is also applicable to mobile phones via Mobile Internet or SMS Query through top networks on AIS, DTAC and True. The information includes flight information, flight departure and arrival information in Bangkok that crew members may use to strengthen service standards and to compete with other airlines flying to Bangkok. The software system also helps cabin crew to maintain quality of passenger service according to the Company’s policy.
THAI plans to submit the Cabin Attendant Pre-Flight Study and Briefing System software for competition in the Asia Pacific ICT Award 2009 (APICTA 2009), which will be organized in Melbourne, Australia during 15-16 December 2009. |
